NEWS AND LINKS

"Berlin Hidden Gem" - Hollywood Reporter

"Wine movies are a tough sell. There have been few that have captured the passion that people feel for the process and the journey of winemakers. But due to the subject and the crafting of "Andre Tchelistcheff: The Voice of Wine," this is one worth seeking out." - Kelly J Hayes

" Andre -- The Voice of Wine," ...is a rare achievement: a wine documentary that isn't boring for either wine experts or novices." - W. Blake Gray

"...moved me to tears... profoundly inspiring and moving" - Erin Brooks  - Robbert Parker - The Wine Advocate

ANDRÉ - THE VOICE OF WINE had the world premiere at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) with a spectacular Gala Dinner.  Followed by premieres at Sofia, Moscow, Transatlantyc, Haifa, Mill Valley, San Louis Obispo, Sonoma, Vero Beach and Devour International Film Festivals.

We are delighted and honored that Ralph Fiennes narrates the film.  Mr. Feinnes is one of contemporary cinema and theatre's greatest talents adding elegance and power to the story.

Mark, the director, was also honored by the ever brilliant advice given to him by his friend and mentor Walter Murch.  Without Walter Murch we certainly would not have the film we have today.

.

Our deep appreciation to those who encouraged, supported and helped us come this far and with enormous gratitude to my dear friends Sue and Al Chandler for making it possible to begin work with Michael to complete the project.  Thank you!!!

A Special Thank You goes out to Juve Vella for helping us continue to work on the project and get it out to festivals and events.

Many many thanks to Grgich Hills Estate - Mike Grgich, Austin Hills and Violet Grgich for the continued support for the film and their very kind financial assistance in helping us get the film completed. Thank you!!!!

OCTOBER 2011: We filmed for over ten days in Napa and Sonoma and then another ten days in France and Italy covering the areas of Alsace, Burgundy, Bordeaux and Tuscany. We had the great honor and pleasure of interviewing many of André's pupils and friends and had the opportunity to even film the original 1926 Cadillac that Georges de Latour drove André for the first time to Napa Valley in 1938. Wedigo von Schultzendorf joined the team as cinematogrpaher. He is a highly acclaimed cinematographer who has worked with such notable directors as Woody Allen and stars as Susan Sarandon, Dennis Quaid, Wesley Snipes, Tea Leoni, Ryan Phillippe, Amanda Peet, Claire Danes, Gretchen Mol, Armin Mueller-Stahl, among others. Wedigo cinemaphotography includes the following feature films:  Pandorum; Lulu and Jimi; Igby Goes Down; Hollywood Ending; The Thirteenth Floor among others.

SEPTEMBER 2011: We started filming on September 13 with perhaps the first pick of red grapes for the season in Napa Valley with Dr. Richard Grant Peterson of Richard Grant Wine and Scott Harvey, of Scott Harvey Wines, who Dr. Peterson has mentored over the years. Dr. Peterson is an advisor on the film and we are so honored to have him as a friend and supporter. Thank you Doctor!
